H: Captain James Kerr RN (1791 – 1871)

Served at the Battle of Copenhagen 1801, probably as a cabin boy, and Battle of Corunna in 1809, probably as a Midshipman. Left active Navy life in 1815 and thereafter on half pay.

Appears as “Commander RN” in the 1861 Census and in later returns as Landowner and “private means”.
