I dropped in to Newington Library to ask how the Grange Association newspaper provision was doing. Feedback is great – there are people in every day (not sure if it’s the same people!), and they are enjoying it.
It turns out however that Edinburgh Libraries offer free access to Pressreader – so that thousands of newspapers are available on-line – even from home!
You do need to sign on – or use your existing library card number, but it takes no time at all.
Thereafter you sign in to Pressreader itself.

- Wall Street Journal to Forbes magazine;
- BBC Wildlife to Chickens;
- Good Housekeeping to Rolling Stone;
- Digital Camera to National Geographic;
- The Beano .. Cross-stitcher … I could go on!
Many non-English language publications are available too.
This doesn’t change our commitment to providing physical papers in the library.
