In March 2021, an application was submitted for Change of Use at 10 Chalmers Crescent EH9 1TS. The application was to return this listed villa to a single dwelling house. It is the former NHS Community Child Health building.
The property is a B listed villa in the Grange Conservation Area on the east side of Chalmers Crescent, between Palmerston Road and Beaufort Road, backing onto Lover’s Loan and Mansionhouse Road beyond. Detailed drawings of the property are available from the Council’s planning portal at 21/00834/FUL. These include, on the ‘Documents’ tab, the Property Particulars from the sale of the property, with an embedded video showing details of the interior and exterior.
The new owner engaged with the Grange Association to explain the plans for the property, for which we are grateful. On the forum on our old website, he set out the proposals and this is a transcript of that thread.

23/00003/REVREF Appeal of refusal of 22/03157/FUL – Scheduled for 08 Mar 2023
An appeal is underway to the Council’s Local Review Body (LRB) challenging the refusal of planning permission for the roof terrace at the rear.
The period in which an appeal could be requested for the refusal of 22/03156/LBC expired on 2 Feb 2023 and so no appeal is now admissible for LBC. The work could therefore not proceed even if the appeal to the LRB for planning permission were successful.
