There is another application for planning permission for a 5G telecoms mast, this time on the NW corner of the junction of Grange Road with Lauder Road. This is a Google streetview of the site from Sept-2022:
The proposal is for a 15m high mast with associated cabinets on the pavement as shown in these drawings:
The planning application is available on the Council’s portal as 23/03053/FUL, where comments or objections can be lodged until 18 August 2023. Note that the Council’s planning portal is scheduled to be unavailable for maintenance from 20 July to 27 July and so we have already downloaded all the documents and made them available for members here so that you can review the proposals even while the portal is unavailable.
There have been other applications for new 5G telecoms masts in or close to the Grange recently and none has yet been approved. Specifically:
Application 22/04200/FUL, opposite 108 Whitehouse Loan, was refused in March 2023.
Application 23/01490/FUL, opposite 171 Whitehouse Loan, at the junction with Newbattle Terrace, was refused in June 2023.
There is application 23/02557/FUL for another mast at the junction of Grange Loan and Blackford Avenue, and this remains “Awaiting Asssessment”.
