East Grange Neighbourhood Watch sends the following:

“Unfortunately, attempted break-ins continue with at least 2 attempts being made in Mansionhouse Road at around 2.30am on Sunday 24th.

A camera and security light deterred entry to one garage and the alarm was activated at a second garage.  CCTV footage was recorded and the information has been passed to the Police.

Sadly, a neighbour also discovered an urn in their garden that morning which had presumably been thrown over the wall of Lover’s Loan perhaps once the thieves had worked out the heavy box didn’t contain jewellery. It is in fact the ashes of a clearly much-loved pet named Millie and it would be nice to see it returned to its owner. The box has been handed into St Leonard’s Police Station, so please spread the word.”

if you know Millie’s owner, please ask them to contact St Leonard’s Police Station.

This is the box/urn that was found having presumably been thrown over the wall from Lovers Loan
