I live in the Grange and am a local flower grower and bee keeper. I grow a limited number of flowers in my garden and have a small cutting patch elsewhere. In addition I have 2 hives on an apiary in West Lothian and another couple on a site south of Edinburgh.

I want to increase the number and range of flowers and foliage that I grow and am looking for a site in the Grange, and wondered if any of your members had any space in their garden which is underused which they might be prepared to let me use to grow flowers. In return I would supply them fresh, locally grown flowers.

In addition, if any member would like to have a bee hive in their garden I would be delighted to talk to them. All they need is a reasonably sheltered spot, preferably south facing with a hedge or fence to the rear, away from areas of the garden which are heavily used. I would be happy to supply a garden host with honey produced by hives on their land !

I would be interested in hosting a bee hive. I wonder if you would like to have a look at my garden to assess its suitability.

          Hi Les,

Thanks very much for the reply. I am away this week but would love to meet you when I get back and see your garden. I live near the corner of Newbattle Terrace and Whitehouse Loan so am pretty close.

I am back next  Sunday so maybe we could arrange some time that week to suit you

          Once again, many thanks  Janet
