Here is a short report of the Grange Prestonfield Community Council (GPCC) Meeting, held on 15th April, which includes information on some important planning and transportation issues in our area.

15 APRIL 2026 Meeting: Cllr. Pauline Flannery in attendance

Council Spending Plans on Roads and Footways: These are set out in the Transport & Environment Committee Papers of 2 April. Here is the link:  https://democracy.edinburgh.gov.uk/ieListMeetings.aspx?CId=136&Year=0

Here are some of the projects indicated for the GPCC area: Carriageway treatment at: McLaren Road, Ventnor Terrace, Strathfillan Road, Seton Place, Clearburn Crescent, Suffolk Road. Mentone Gardens, West Savile Road, East Mayfield, West Mayfield, Maurice Place: Footway treatment at: Ratcliffe Terrace, Grange Crescent.
This Council report also covers scheduled road safety and local traffic improvements. (The Grange Loan / Kilgraston Road and East Mayfield / Dalkeith Road junctions do not feature at this time.)
In another development, the Council will look to provide better communication and information on the prospective delivery of road and pavement works in future years.

Cameron Toll Redevelopment: View the proposals here: https://camerontollmasterplan.co.uk/. After a number of local consultations, the development team will now turn to preparing the detailed planning application. It may be submitted late this year. There will be further consultation around that time.

Controlled Parking Zone S8 Proposals: These would replace the present Priority Parking Area B1, for Blackford Newington. They may be tabled at the 2 June Council Traffic Regulation Order Sub-Committee (TROSC). The agenda will be published on 26 May. Here is the link:  https://democracy.edinburgh.gov.uk/mgCommitteeDetails.aspx?ID=645.
You may be able to propose limited amendments to what is presented at the TROSC, this via a Ward Councillor who sits on the Sub-Committee. We can point to the names. Your representation has to be submitted ahead of the date of the meeting.

Tram Trains for Edinburgh: A public meeting is scheduled for 23 April, at 7.30pm, in the Nucleus Building at King’s Buildings campus. You’ll get a full description of the project. To book your place, contact tramtrainsedi@gmail.com.

GPCC AGM 2026: This will take place on Wednesday, 20 May, at 18.45, at Cameron House Community Hub, 34 Prestonfield Avenue, EH16 5EU. The meeting will be held in public. The monthly meeting will follow.

Further information is given on the GPCC website here.
