      Here is the short report of the latest Grange Prestonfield Community Council (GPCC) Meeting:-

      20 MAY 2026 Meeting: Cllr. Pauline Flannery in attendance
      Active Travel Programme: Meadows to Greenbank: Traffic Regulation Orders Sub-Committee 12 May: Legislative drafting problems mean the removal at this time of traffic filters along Canaan Lane and Cluny Drive / Hermitage Gardens / Braid Avenue junction.
      The Gillis Centre Complex (Strathearn Road / Whitehouse Loan): The complex is to be sold by the Archdiocese of St Andrews and Edinburgh in Q3; this opens a historic site for alternative use and redevelopment. (The closed Strathearn Road Post Office Parcel Centre is also pending redevelopment.)
      Reid Memorial Church: The church and halls are to be released for sale. There will be a public Q&A session at the Reid on Thursday, 18 June, at 6.30pm, led by members of the kirk session.
      Roadways Improvements in South Edinburgh: See the previous report. No public timetable on planned repairs, as yet. The Council’s Roads and Transport Division has committed to an overall improvement in the public information flow on road and footway works.
      Causewayside Lads Institute, Ratcliffe Terrace: This historic building now carries a Building Preservation Notice.
      Licensing: New Civic Licence Application for a skin piercing / tattooing licence at 191 Causewayside, EH9 1PH, in name of Campfire Tattoo Ltd. Opening Mon – Sun 11.00 to 18.00. Representations or objections to City of Edinburgh Council, Licensing Service, 249 High Street, EdinburghEH1 1YJ, by 12/06/2026. The objection or representation must specify the name and addressof the person making it and be signed by that person or an agent.
      Parking: Proposals for Controlled Parking Zone S8, Blackford-Newington: Anticipate a possible Traffic Regulation Order (TRO) at the 11 September June TRO Sub-Committee. Look for the Agenda on 4 September. Representations from the public in respect of agenda items must be submitted 48 hours before the Sub-Committee meeting.
      Edinburgh Council Community Grants Fund (CGF): New award cycle now open. See GPCC Website. Applications close at 11.00, 29 June 2026; Guidance webinar at 16.30 on 2 June.
