The GPCC report in the Newsroom of 19/11/2025 includes the following :
“Parking Regulations: Following the mid-2025 consultation on proposals to move the Blackford Newington area from a Priority Parking Area (PPA B1) to a Controlled Parking Zone (CPZ S8), we are awaiting the publication of the formal Traffic Regulation Orders at some point in Q1 2026. We don’t have a date, so be on the lookout. Once published, there will be a short three-week window for comments and objections.”
Hello, has anyone heard rumours that a decision to introduce the CPZ zone in the B1 area is close to being made? I live in West Relugas Road and am opposed to this happening. It has been suggested that this is likely to be discussed at the next TRO sub committee meeting on the 17th March 2026 , although I am still awaiting publication of the agenda possibly around the 10th March. There is another meeting on the 2nd June , again no agenda yet .
The strategic review information of the consultation indicates that feedback is expected in the summer 2026 but I am assuming it will be discussed with the TRO subcommittee before that.
I would be pleased to received information from anyone who might know more about this. I have been told that planned the meeting of the sub committee is open to the public, does anyone know if this is correct as some of our residents in our street are hoping to attend to raise our concerns? Thank you, Marie Denholm
Marie, I don’t know anything about the extensions of the CPZ in our area, but I can tell you that the agenda for the next TRO sub-committee meeting (on 17 March) is available on the council website. See;
https://democracy.edinburgh.gov.uk/ieListDocuments.aspx?CId=645&MId=7798&Ver=4
In general, agendas are posted on the site one week before the respective meetings.
As far as I know, members of the public are entitled to attend all committee meetings (but you should check that before travelling into town). Also, I believe all committee meetings are webcast.
Hope this helps.
Mike
