“Start of sewer upsizing work on Marchmont Crescent:
From the 7th November Marchmont Crescent will be closed to vehicular traffic for approximately 7 months.
The road will be closed in short sections with each phased section taking approximately 6-8 weeks.
The work involves excavating Marchmont Crescent to install larger diameter sewer pipes along with new manholes.
No parking notices and cones will be placed out prior to the work starting. Please adhere to these notices.”
Southern section of Marchmont Crescent to be closed to motor traffic in the period 10 April to 30 July 2023 – and 41 bus diverted
A Temporary Traffic Regulation Order (TTRO/23/77) has been issued, authorising the Scottish Water project to close the southern section of Marchmont Crescent to motor traffic. The period authorised is 10 April to 30 July, although the actual closure dates within that period will depend on progress with the overall sewer upgrade project.
The TTRO has this diagram showing the section of the road that will be closed, as well as the temporary parking restrictions.
The 41 bus will be diverted along Marchmont Road and Melville Drive during the periods of the road closure.
