Scottish Power Energy Networks (SPEN) operates the electricity distribution network in our area and is planning to install medium voltage cables (33 kV) from Newbattle Terrace through the Grange to the King’s Buildings and beyond.
The contract for this work has recently been awarded to the civil engineering and utility contractor Opus Utility Solutions Ltd. Work is expected to start this month (May) and take 15 months.
