Home Energy

Welcome to the Grange Association’s Home Energy page.

Set up in 2023, the GA Home Energy Group aims to support residents’ needs for information to manage the ever-evolving challenges to reduce energy consumption as we combat climate change. Keeping abreast of the plethora of information and the range of potential choices proves continually demanding especially when public financial resources are reduced. Dilemmas over where to start can seem overwhelming. At a time of climate and financial emergency, the individual householder still has to prioritise. Some see good insulation as primary; others focus on choosing the best heat source.

Under nine separate headings, we summarise currently available information, for information purposes only. It does not constitute advice. Readers will note some repetition as, in practice, many topics are inter-related. Some links to specialist/expert sources are offered in preference to reproducing material that may become out of date. Solutions will be dictated by the type of property and each householder’s differing circumstances.

The group aims to keep contents under regular review as innovations and new assessments emerge.

Please contact home-energy@grangeassociation.org for clarification and with suggestions for revision.
