From East Grange Neighbourhood Watch:
“In daylight on the afternoon of 12th January, someone entered the rear garden of a property in Dalrymple Crescent. He was wearing a “Monster” top and a face mask, and when confronted by the owner and chased off, claimed he was ‘looking for his friend’. The Police were informed, but he was not caught.
On Saturday 13th there was a break-in in a property on Lauder Road between Dick Place and Grange Road on the west side at 5:15pm via a back window, despite lights, locks, cameras and alarm. They got into the back garden by climbing over the wall from a neighbouring garden. The robber triggered the alarm and spent a few minutes going through drawers apparently looking for car keys, but left empty handed.
The police came very quickly, but unfortunately he got away. He too was wearing a distinctive dark grey coat with “Monster” on it. He has not been caught.
The police have stressed that the best course of action should there be any similar incidents, even if the person has actually not done anything, at that stage, other than be prowling around your property, is to call 999.”

I live in Lauder Road and I am concerned about these recent reports in nearby properties. I see that the report is from the East Grange Neighbourhood Watch. I looked on the Neighbourhood WatchScotland website but an East Grange group is not listed. Please could someone from the group contact me and give me more information about their group and the area of the Grange they cover.
Hi Brian,
I think if you email Richard (membership@grangeassociation.org) he might be able to help you with this as the Grange Association has given talks to the East Grange Neighbourhood Watch group in the past, and would likely have contact details.
Kind regards,
Neil
