The Council is planning to resurface Lauder Road, between Grange Road and Grange Loan, over five weeks starting on 10 July. Residents have received this letter giving details. The intention is to retain two-way traffic throughout and so no diversions will be necessary for buses. Only half the road width will be resurfaced at a time. The junctions with Dick Place and Dalrymple Crescent will need to be closed for periods, and parking will be suspended as required to facilitate the works.
Seems completed now – they’ve even done the road marking.
I would have thought that there are higher priorities than Lauder Rd for re-surfacing eg Newbattle and Marchmont
Lauder Road does take buses though, and generally larger vehicles – plus I can tell you it was very dangerous to cycle down.
